Emily Hagins' Pathogen to Infect Los Angeles February 26-27

Emily Hagin's film Pathogen is to be shown in a two day screening event in Los Angeles at the Downtown Independent between February 26th and 27th.

The film's synopsis casts some echoes of the 'rage virus' of 28 Days Later; however, this time the disease flows in the water. The tale follows a group of teenage friends and allies in their collaborative effort to find an answer to the infection that courses the veins of the city. Those taken with the bacteria are not only doomed to die, but also doomed to return in an infected animated state to slay and munch on the living.

Emily Hagin's 'Pathogen' and Claire Ryan's 'Tales From The Script' at Horror Society Film Festival

Claire Ryan's Tales From The Script and Emily Hagin's Pathogen are in the lineup of zombie films screening at the Horror Society Zombie Outbreak Film Festival on November 14th, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Tales From The Script is an anthology film of three horror shorts, all delving into the dark realm of Indie Horror production. Director Claire Ryan will be on hand to give a preview of her film.

Pathogen is about a fourteen-year-old student, Dannie, who feels that the cause of a zombie outbreak is linked to her recurring dreams. When the infection reaches an epidemic level, it becomes clear that it not only kills, but restores the body to a minimally functioning state where the infected become the "living-dead"...

Laura Moss's 'Rising Up': Zombie Mockumentary

On October 3rd Rising Up: the Story of the Zombie Rights Movement, directed by Laura Moss, made its New York City premiere at the Coney Island Film Festival, playing in a sold out block to an enthusiastic crowd.

I've been an attendee/participant at the super fun, well-run CIFF for the past several years, and this year's Block 6 (which preceded the fest's official horror block but contained several horror/comedy-ish films) was one of the most solid programs I've seen at this or any other film festival. But even with all that strong competition, Rising Up was still a standout...

Katie Carman and Elizabeth Lee's zombedy 'The Eaters' - Trailer!

The EatersThe Eaters is a new zombedy indie film written by Elizabeth Lee and directed by Katie Carman made in Brooklyn, New York City and set in the same. With a decidedly quirky script, the low budget movie seems to derive inspiration from Shaun of the Dead and Dazed and Confused. A Brooklyn band, General Malacarne, is practicing when once again, the power goes out. Little do they know that this blackout is unlike any other, and that while they relax and smoke up in the basement, everyone above ground is being transformed into vicious, undead eating machines. Will the band make it out of Brooklyn? Will they too become flesh eating monsters? Will their stash go dry?...

'Everything I Needed to Know About Zombies I Learned From the Movies' by Sherezada

Everything I Needed to Know About Zombies I Learned From the Movies is a new short film directed by Sherezada Kent playing at Another Hole In The Head Film Festival in San Francsico, CA this upcoming week!

When three co-workers (Jesse Mueller, Michael Carlisi, and Mary Webb) find themselves trapped in their office basement by shambling zombies, the unlikely trio attempts to devise a plan of escape. With limited resources and no sign of the attack waning, Brian (Mueller) and Molly (Webb) try to put brains and brawn together to find a way out. However, it's Max's (Carlisi) store of useless movie trivia that truly holds the key to their escape, a harebrained scheme that just may be crazy enough to work.

Dead Snow (2009)

Dead SnowThe Nazis were bad, bad people. On this, at least, I think we can all agree. The legacy of Hitler’s movement left an iconic evil in western culture; it would be difficult to find a real world image more naturally associated with malignant evil than an SS officer in full uniform. It is fitting then, especially since they are all dead, defeated, and gone, that those monsters of reality are themselves exploited to become some of the most entertaining boogeymen to venture into film.
