Women-only horror film fest 'Viscera' announces 2010 winners!

The Viscera Film Festival, which we sponsor, was created by Shannon Lark and presents horror films made by women from all over the world! Lark has just announced the 2009-2010 officially selected Viscera films. Viscera is judged by a panel of female horror filmmakers.
Animated super-short Barbee Butcher by Sophie Lagues, Beautiful As You Are by Doug Mallette and Mary Katherine Sisco, Hollywood Skin by Maude Michaud, the humorous I Spit on Eli Roth by Devi Snively, the experimental Mary Jane Go Round by Ginnetta Correli (Viscera Award Winner), super-creepy Mockingbird by Marichelle Daywalt, stylized Salome's Picnic by Victoria Waghorn, and action-packed Switch by Melanie Light are the official choices for 2010...

Nia Edwards-Behi's women-only horror festival, Ghouls on Film, has announced the initial lineup! Starting at 3pm on February 20th, 2010 at the Mixing Bowl in Birmingham, United Kingdom is an hour of shorts, including films by Amanda Boyle, Paula Haifley, Faye Jackson, Melanie Light and a brand new short by Maude Michaud.
There will be two feature films screening for your pleasure: Kate Glover’s outback slasher Slaughtered and the UK PREMIERE of the Soska Sisters’ Dead Hooker in a Trunk!
In addition to all this filmic goodness, very special guest Emily Booth will be in attendance and giving us a peek at her brand new webseries, Behind the Screams! Full details of the program will be made available nearer the festival date.

Anyone who’s familiar with the films of Izabel Grondin knows she often tackles disturbing subjects matter. Fantasy, her latest short film, is no exception. The premise is straightforward: a man and a woman meet through an ad to fulfill a particular fantasy. Revealing what that fantasy is would destroy most of the mystery and tension of the first act, so I’ll refrain from doing so. I’ll just say that it involves something that is unpleasant for most of us, women...
