Submitted by Superheidi on 11/18/2009
Jill Gatsby, daughter of cult filmmaker Larry Cohen (The Stuff, Maniac Cop II) is trying her hand at directing and writing a feature horror film, in which she will also star!
The Torture of Delva Mills is in production and we should expect to see it out in 2010. In 2005, Jill directed XIS, a terrifying short horror film about a serial killer and his victims, and she co-produced the horror movie Captivity in 2007.
Jennifer Thym ('Lumina')
Submitted by Superheidi on 11/16/2009
Jennifer Thym is a Hong Kong filmmaker with a genre-bending web series she defines as ‘magical realism’. Lumina features a female lead in a strangely sci-fi modern world where mirrors lead to romance and corporate greed, and a supernatural force called The Mirrorati that are to be feared. Thym developed her web series with some immersive storylines, deep back stories, and a long-term plan that could include a feature film, graphic novelizations, and a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game.)
“In TV terms, I think it's closest to Lost,” says Thym about Lumina's genre, “a serial thriller interwoven with fantastical elements and real world conspiracies...”
Katt Shea on 'Pom Pom Girls' and Allison Anders on 'The Big T.N.T. Show'
Submitted by Superheidi on 11/15/2009
Today - Monday, November 16, join cult film director Katt Shea (Poison Ivy, The Rage: Carrie 2) at Trailers From Hell for the trailer to The Pom Pom Girls. Even in 1976 Joe Rubin's drive-in sexploitation hit was considered a cut above the usual, so its relative obscurity today can only be ascribed to its long unavailablity.
Then, on Wednesday, November 18, join Allison Anders for the trailer to The Big T.N.T. Show. AIP's 1966 followup to the smash rock concert hit The T.A.M.I. Show is fun but had less cultural impact. The lineup is stellar but producer Phil Spector didn't hit the jackpot this time out.

New Portman, Gyllenaal thriller 'Brothers' a remake of Danish thriller 'Brødre" by Susanne Bier
Submitted by Superheidi on 11/12/2009
Lionsgate will release Brothers, a new thriller about a returning war veteran starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey MaGuire, and Natalie Portman nationwide in the United States on December 4, 2009.
But did you know it is a remake of a Danish film, Brødre, from 2004 written and directed by Susanne Bier?
“In our part of the world, we’re dealing with an abstract war, a war we can’t see that we’re in, which is a very strange thing,” Bier told journalist Jessica Winter in 2004 when the film was released during the London Film Festival, not long before Bush started pulling out all the stops in Fallujah. “It’s not tangible, but it’s there, and that must be really terrifying for most people...”

Tales From The Script is an anthology film of three horror shorts, all delving into the dark realm of Indie Horror production. Director Claire Ryan will be on hand to give a preview of her film.
Pathogen is about a fourteen-year-old student, Dannie, who feels that the cause of a zombie outbreak is linked to her recurring dreams. When the infection reaches an epidemic level, it becomes clear that it not only kills, but restores the body to a minimally functioning state where the infected become the "living-dead"...
